Silhouette Launches Zenlight

New Lenses Are Designed To Capture the Simplicity and Emotion of the Moment

Eyewear innovators and designers, Silhouette, the market leaders in frameless design have developed a new range named ‘Zenlight’ that are inspired by people, nature and the emotions and loosely based on Zen teachings.
 
The Zen principle of  ‘everything and nothing’ is accommodated in a range that offers a high degree of comfort and subtle style on one hand and nothing which might encumber or limit the wearer’s vision on the other. Twelve unique, lively colours have been specially devised for the twelve Zenlight rimless models, providing an almost unlimited range of combinations to choose from. Thanks to the wide diversity of colours and different lens shapes and sizes available the wearer is able to make a selection most suitable for their particular personality, and requirements.
 
For unrestricted viewing pleasure and the highest level of comfort, Silhouette has used SPX, for the Zenlight’s temples. This unique plastic is flexible and soft against the face and relaxes the wearer. The bridge is made from ultra-light High-Tech Titanium and the intelligent hinge arrangement allows the temples to open and close gently without screws.
 
Zenlight is all about enjoying the moment and each of the twelve colours has been matched up with a deep and simple emotion: the fresh red tone of Dynamic Mood exudes exuberance and joy, while Harmony Shine incorporates harmonious berry tones, and Orange Thought conveys a sense of shimmering warmth. Sunny Inspirations combines the freshness of lemon with a gentle shine, while Yin Yang incorporates classic black and white shades. Cool Streams, on the other hand, focuses on the power of contrast in ice blue and brown. Golden Light exudes soft elegance, while Mystic Shadows shimmers in an eye-catching way and Vital Power represents power with its bronze shine. Blue Relax promotes relaxation with its diverse blue shades; Deep Balance radiates harmony with its combination of matt black and ruthenium, while the energy of the earth is expressed in the brown tones of Earth Energy.
 
All Zenlight models utilise a special type of colour coating and a great deal of attention to detail is gone to in first applying the shimmering gold or chrome colours and then adding each colour layer using a special printing process. This involves many small stages – and is partially completed by hand to generate the unique two-tone effect.
 
‘Zenlight’ will be available worldwide from September 2009 through specialised eye care professionals and opticians.
