Early AMD Protection from Grafton with Reichert Forsee

The Reichert Foresee Preferential Hyperacuity Perimeter (PHP®) is now available from Grafton Optical in the UK.

The Foresee PHP is a non-invasive visual field analyser for monitoring Age- Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) and early detection of conversion to Choroidal Neovascularisation (wet AMD or CNV).  Validated in clinical trials, the Foresee PHP technology provides excellent accuracy in CNV detection, 82% sensitivity and 88% specificity.

Brian Bowles, Managing Director of Grafton Optical, comments on the decision to support the Foresee PHP from Reichert: "In most cases, the current standard of care does not detect the progression of AMD at an early stage.  But for the patient, early detection is essential for good visual outcome and can be a deciding factor in the ability to continue normal daily functions.  The Foresee PHP provides this early warning."

The Reichert Foresee PHP allows for frequent monitoring of AMD patients while reducing technician time by up to 80%  It provides enhanced patient report tracking of the visual field changes over time.
