Rodenstock launches Ergo® Near Vision promotion

-40% off lenses and workshops held to help opticians increase sales of ‘computer glasses’-

Rodenstock UK has launched a promotion offering opticians 40% off its Ergo® Near Vision lenses, including glazing and remote edging, during October, November and December.

To help independent opticians take full advantage of this promotion, Rodenstock UK is also organising regional workshops to give practices the skills and information to help increase their sales of near and intermediate vision spectacles.

“Studies* show that 89% of all spectacle wearers work with computers but only one in 10 wears special computer glasses,” says Debbie Bathgate, Lens Product Manager at Rodenstock UK.

“This means there are huge numbers of people who would benefit from having a second pair of glasses for computer work and this innovative promotion will help opticians increase their sales in this fast growing market.”

With more people spending increased amounts of time using computers and digital handheld devices, the past few years has seen a huge growth in the use of ‘computer glasses’, says Debbie.

Rodenstock UK has responded to this by strengthening its Ergo® range of lenses, and now offers three design types to suit differing demands on vision at the near and reading zones. “Our extensive portfolio allows opticians to offer customers the perfect near comfort lenses while giving the best possible advice,” adds Debbie.

“Our workshops will inspire opticians to dispense second pairs and more spectacles with enthusiasm and confidence. They take place on 27 October in Wetherby, North Yorkshire, 28 October in Solihull, West Midlands and on 29 October at our offices in Northfleet, Kent.”

Opticians attending will get a CET-approved presentation on ergonomics and near vision lenses and a presentation from Martin Gross, a professional trainer and coach for opticians. He will look at the common practice of how opticians usually only sell their customers one pair of spectacles even though their needs are higher.

The seminar will show in an entertaining manner how you can sell many more spectacles than ever before. Those attending will take away a marketing pack to assist putting into practice all the skills acquired during the day, including a marketing contribution for advertising or open day supported by Rodenstock staff.

Also included in the pack are a tips and techniques booklet on near vision lenses, quick sales guide, advice pull-out card, patient mailers, window sticker, product videos for in practice media displays, marketing templates, advertorial atrtwork for local press and promotional literature.
