E-Eye The E-Eye is a unique patented Intense Regulated Pulsed Light treatment (IRPL) which stimulates the parasympathetic nerve and Meibomian glands, returning them to their normal function.  After treatment your patients could be dry-eye symptom free for up to three years.

With between 10 to 20% of the population suffering with Dry-eye syndrome, E-Eye is the solution your patients will have long been waiting for.  The treatment only takes a few minutes to administer and is non-invasive, painless, safe and quick allowing the patient to continue with their daily activities immediately.

Patients are seated comfortably and the protective eyewear is put on and adjusted on the patients eyes. The optical gel is then applied on the cheekbone and the temporal areas for each eye.

A series of 5 flashes are applied under one eye, starting from the inner canthus up to the temporal area, using the nominal power.

Next generation HEYEX image management platform piloted in the UK

HeyexNext generation image management software for the SPECTRALIS imaging platform is to be piloted at several key sites across the UK.

The new Heidelberg Eye Explorer (HEYEX) platform is a comprehensive ophthalmic image management and device integration solution for the clinic. Its flexible and modular design provides a solution to clinics of all sizes, from small practices with a single instrument to large enterprises with client server architecture, numerous instruments and multiple sites.

“The HEYEX platform will provide the reliability, security and quality required to improve patient care in the most demanding clinical environments. It offers rapid image acquisition and viewing for improved clinic workflow”, explains Kenny Boyle, Key Accounts Manager at Heidelberg Engineering

The first installation as part of the pilot programme occurred at Eyecare Medical in Macclesfield in September with installations at other key sites nationwide scheduled for 2017.

How the OCT Angiography Module for SPECTRALIS benefits from superior resolution

Angiography
The OCT Angiography (OCTA) Module for the SPECTRALIS diagnostic imaging platform is now available to order and will begin shipping in November 2016.

The OCTA Module uses a complex mathematical model fed by full spectrum OCT data.

The full spectrum approach enables three-dimensional OCTA imaging with high axial resolution separating thin vascular plexuses.
“With a lateral resolution of 5.7 microns and an axial resolution of 3.9 microns we are able to resolve the individual vascular capillary plexus within the retina and provide very high resolution images for the optometrist.

OCTA scans can then be correlated with other imaging modalities, such as infrared, MultiColor and BluePeak, which aids with interpretation of the images”, explained Christopher Mody, Director of Clinical Services.



The OCT Angiography Module can be added to new and existing upgradeable SPECTRALIS devices with the OCT2 Module. Like all SPECTRALIS diagnostic imaging modalities, the OCT Angiography Module benefits from the precision of TruTrack Active Eye Tracking, which avoids motion artifacts and ensures high resolution images.

Brian Bowles, Managing Director, met up with D-Eye representatives at the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), Chicago, to cement Grafton’s exclusivity of the D-Eye smartphone-based retinal screening system.

The device was shown on the Grafton Optical stand at the recent NEG & Independents Day show and became the focus of a great deal of attention.




The innovative D-EYE Portable Imaging System is the only portable ophthalmoscope capable of recording high definition images and video of the retina.

D-EYE
It attaches to an Apple smartphone creating an ophthalmic camera that captures and records high-definition video and still images of the interior of the eye for evaluating and assessing in any location.

D-Eye can be used to conduct routine eye examinations and retinal screenings anywhere allowing the clinician to see and evaluate the optic nerve head without the use of dilating drops and to look for neurological disorders associated with the eye.

Other features include recording images of children and infants without dilation drops, examining bed-ridden patients, emergency room evaluations and reviewing before and after treatment images with patients, parents or guardians.

With a field of view of up to 20 degrees and requiring no external power or lighting, the D-EYE allows the user to prescreen anywhere and share the results with professionals instantly by sending/sharing from a mobile phone.

CamdenBlackfin Skin has a bas-relief pattern carved by photoengraving the titanium to produce a light yet solid woven effect, creating a play of symmetries enhanced by the polished finish that emphasises their contrasts.

There are two patterns to choose from, A kaleidoscopic ONE, the other resembling zebra skin. This revolutionary way of working titanium is truly one of a kind.

LovenThe new spectacle frames Camden BF762 (above) and Loven BF777 (right) for women have the skin pattern on the front.

TD DaviesBritish designer Tom Davies launches a Limited Edition sunglasses range called the London collection.

The London collection provides a modern twist to the classic aviator shape.

This exquisite handmade collection combines pure titanium with a touch of cotton acetate and contemporary detailing. Each frame comes with a high quality solar sun lens.

“The concept for this collection with its high quality titanium detailing was born out of a recent Bespoke design consultation I did for a movie coming out next year. They were so well received, I felt it had to become a Limited Edition range of sunglasses.”
