Rodenstock Launches New Mecedes-Benz Style Autumn Collection
Range features innovative screw-free ‘double-action-spring-hinge’
Rodenstock has announced the UK launch of the Mercedes-Benz Style Eyewear Collection for autumn 2014.
Full-rim frames and retro shapes distinguish the five models of sunglasses as well as the new models of the correction spectacles collection.
The range features the innovative, screw-free ‘double-action-spring-hinge’. This provides a spring effect on the one hand, and a snap effect on the other hand, which noticeably prevents wear even after being worn for a long time.
Damien Klevge, Rodenstock’s Business Manager Eyewear, says the new collection is inspired by the Mercedes-Benz design philosophy of sensual purity to create a range of luxurious eyewear. The frames have been designed by Rodenstock in partnership with the designers at Mercedes-Benz to create the ultimate in German engineering.
Sunglasses: trendy colours and extreme lightness
Damien said: “Matt surfaces, extremely light materials, high-quality patterns in combination with a fascinating diversity of colours and extraordinary lens colours make the new models of sunglasses unmistakeable. The slightly modified pilot shape and the frame colours, which are found again in the mirror coated lenses, complete the design.
“The MBS1040 from the Base Edition is new in a classical pilot shape made of metal. The Signature Edition presents the MBS5029 – extremely light, decorative spectacles in a Carré shape, which are available in four classical colours just like all the frames in the new collection.”
Correction frames: modern and innovative
Damien said: “Even the full-rim version of the new models promises incomparable lightness. Model MBS2055 presents perfection in the highest quality with a base material made of metal in combination with an ultra-light plastic bar as a design element. The MBS6038 metal frame from the Signature Edition appears in a panto shape in classical colours – an opulent companion with a clear design.”
