Waterside Optical come and marvel at 3D face scanning.
Waterside Optical Labs -come and marvel at 3D face scanning creating unique frames and sunglasses
Creating frames and sunglasses that are as unique as the individuals that wear them
One of the most exciting developments at Waterside is their 2019 appointment as UK distributors of the 3DNA eyewear system developed by Hong Kong based Eye-DNA.
The 3DNA system is offered with various practice display units each incorporating a 3D face scanner and 32 inch touchscreen computer, with software which allows opticians to design and dispense true bespoke premium eyewear. The wearers themselves actually participate in the creation of their frame design and can watch it coming to life on their face. Every element of the frame design can be individualised to suit the wearer's requirements and taste.
The bespoke frames can be produced in titanium, stainless steel, Mazzucchelli acetate, stone, mother-of-pearl, wood, buffalo horn, cork, carbon fibre or even recycled vinyl
Bob Forgan commented 'I've been monitoring the activities at Eye-DNA for some years now and Dennis Zelazowski, the co-founder is a personal friend. I really believe this is the future of true bespoke eyewear. Not only can wearers assist in the design of their eyewear, they actually have the ability to see how it will look on them before they place their order. Fit is guaranteed, just the same as if you visited a Saville Rowe tailor. Every element is truly bespoke to create frames and sunglasses that are as unique as the individuals that wear them. In addition to facilitating the eyewear design the 3D scanner also allows the accurate capture of pds, fitting heights and panto angle which ensures that we can also produce and supply each frame complete with lenses that incorporate these measurements.
We recognise that in common with our independent customers offering things that are 'different' is the key to both our survivals and opticians will have the opportunity to visit our stand J112 at Optrafair this year to see for themselves how offering true bespoke eyewear can help them differentiate themselves from their competitors and play an important part in the future of their business'.
